Nathan Freeburg, the founder of Freeburg Litigation, is a criminal defense lawyer and aggressive trial attorney who takes criminal cases in Washington, D.C., and U.S. military cases world-wide.

After graduating from The Florida State University School of Law in 2002, Nathan Freeburg practiced in New York City on complex commercial, contract and securities litigation in federal court. During this period, Nathan was a key member of trial teams that won multi-million dollar verdicts for his clients. Nathan then entered active duty as a Judge Advocate (JAG) with the U.S. Army where he deployed to Iraq and practiced as a prosecutor, as a Division Chief of Military Justice, as a military defense attorney and then was handpicked to train and advise Army defense lawyers worldwide for the U.S. Army Defense Counsel Assistance Program. During his time on active duty, Nathan tried or consulted on the most well-known cases in military, with worldwide recognition. As a prosecutor he worked closely with Army CID, NCIS, the FBI and various United States District Attorney’s offices. As a defense attorney Nathan developed an expertise in cross-examining alleged sexual assault victims, law enforcement agents and senior military commanders.

Nathan Freeburg defends people accused of premeditated murder, rape, child rape, sexual assault, fraud, aggravated assault and other serious crimes, often receiving full acquittals or an acquittal on all of the serious charges. Nathan has taught CLE (Continuing Legal Education) classes on courtroom skills and trial advocacy to hundreds of lawyers across the United States and even in Germany and South Korea.

Nathan is a 2002 graduate of The Florida State University School of Law and is admitted to practice before the bars of the District of Columbia and the State of New York.
